Dette stykke har en stabil firedels-puls med et lag av åttedelsnoter oppå. Pulsens regelmessighet hjelper musikerne å telle pausene etter hver frase. Woodblock-stemmen er kjempe viktig, men kan også spilles på temple blocks eller claves.
My neighbours used to have a great big grandfather clock that ticked rather loudly. My brother and I would sit and wait patiently for the hour to strike, and the little bird to come out to say “koo-koo”.
This piece has a steady quarter-note pulse with layered eighth-note rhythms. The steadiness of the pulse will help the musicians to accurately count through the rests at the end of each phrase. The woodblock part is crucial, but can also be played on temple blocks or claves.
