Great things are on the horizon

Skal du lage gaming-konsert for korpset og sliter med å finne musikk? Du er ikke alene! Arrangøren møtte også dette problemet med skolekorpset han dirigerer. Saken tok han i egne hender. Her har du endelig noe musikk fra spill som kan spilles av et juniorkorps med god besetning eller av et hovedkorps. Roblox er ikke ett enkelt spill, men en platform hvor man kan designe egne spill eller spille spill som andre har designet. Et av disse spillene er Grow a Garden, hvor spilleren skal plante frø og få plantene til å vokse. Og siden en forskningsrapport viste at planter vokser bedre når du spiller «klassisk musikk» for dem, er det naturlig at det også er temamusikk i spillet. To av stykkene du hører i spillet er «Morgenstemning» av Grieg og «An Die Freude» av Beethoven. Arrangøren har av pedagogiske hensyn valgt å gjøre noen endringer på Kildematerialet.  Hornstemmen er som regel doblet i et annet instrument. I grovmessing er trombone 1 den stemmen som går høyest opp i registeret. Trombone 2 er nesten helt lik som baryton, men har pause i 101-103 av mestringshensyn (likevel med stikknoter). Sopransax (vises ikke i partituret) er samme som obo-stemmen (begge optional).En liten bonus med dette arrangementet er at det også kan brukes i en konsert med vestlig kunstmusikk («klassisk») som tema!

The arranger faced the same problem with the school band he conducts, so he took matters into his own hands. Here you finally have some game music that can be performed by a well-balanced junior band or by a senior band. Roblox is not a single game, but a platform where you can design your own games or play games created by others. One of these games is Grow a Garden, where the player plants seeds and helps the plants grow. And since a research report showed that plants grow better when you play “classical music”, it’s only natural that the game also includes themed music. Two of the pieces you hear in the game are Grieg’s “Morning Mood” and Beethoven’s “An Die Freude.” For pedagogical reasons, the arranger has chosen to make some changes to the source material. The horn part is usually doubled in another instrument. In the low brass section, Trombone 1 is the part that goes highest in the register. Trombone 2 is almost identical to the baritone part but has a rest in bars 101–103 for accessibility (with cue notes included). Soprano Sax (not shown in score) is equal to the Oboe part (both parts are optional). A bonus with this arrangement is that it can also be used in a concert with Western art music (“classical”) as the theme!
